one last look...

Yup, I've found a new home. Fret not, I'm not deleting this space until Blogspot issues a warning of sorts, so those who want to take a trip down memory lane may do so anytime...

To all my readers, here's your ticket to the blink times

But yes, I'm absolutely delighted Asia's greatest rock band is finally back...for the closing theme of Saw IV hahaha.

It's taken off their rooftop performance at some Tokyo mall (why do all great bands like to sing on top of skyscrapers anyway?)The quality to the PV's not really good, so let's just wait for the single to be released. You can tell Yoshiki's mellowed down a fair bit with age, but the music's too good to not bring all those memories back.

X-Japan!!! すごい!!

in her words

Quek wrote something which got me thinking...about many things.

I've learned in my lifetime so far that you can't help who you fall for and no matter how hard you try and how much it hurts you everyday that you just wanna be with them...

Feelings are very destructive. It's because of this that I don't trust them at all. When you say 'it feels right', it only means you have taken a huge step of faith in believing that aliens and obese fairy godmothers exist.

The only act of faith I advocate is that of Christ's divinity. All other things, including the press releases of our hearts, must be treated with immaculate suspicion.

Which is why when something like that crashes right through your door, you must always ask yourself if you can pick yourself together and walk away from it.

Far better to have your whole heart to yourself, than cut it apart for many women.

Far better to have your own heart to yourself, than give it to one girl who might just break it.

For all the stuff I know,
for every decent advice that I dispense so willingly,
for nosey and true friends who can't wait to see what happens next,
for getting ignored more than half of the time,
for loosing sleep whenever she chooses not to,
for the way this heart beats whenever she's near,
for all those feelings that reveal the shittiest side of me,
for not being able to say all I want to say after she says hi,
for being honest to everyone else but her,
for deciding to hold everything back because it's still not time to go,

and for the very fact that I might very well walk away empty-handed, even when the time comes...

I'm still pressing on like a retarded kid.

lately...

The Brits mailed me last night. They claimed the writing and ideas were good, but it just wasn't WOW enough to get printed. Sigh, it's back to scavenging for the neighbours' leftovers.

Was totally devastated at the number of typos at work today. If the editor remains recalcitrant, you will see me stocking up more knives in the drawers. Not being able to proof-read the work of others is totally unacceptable, both from a creative and commercial point of view.

I'm suffering from a two-dimensional nostalgia at this moment. In preparation for the demand of presents this festive season, department stores island-wide are selling a '50-in-one' game console for only $19.90! The system includes all your favourite ATARI games of the 80s with multiple levels of difficulty and character options. Compared to all the virtual trash that the future is throwing at us, nothing beats the simplicity of punching/shooting pixels and basic midi sounds!

Which reminds me, everyone who misses wearing school uniforms should watch 'Azumanga Daioh.' You won't know just how funny it can be until you try. Japanese schoolgirls are packed with more nonsense than the goodies of your average piñata.

Don't you just love Osaka? LOL

"That's your torch I'm carrying"

I must admit I have developed a new fetish for light novels. Compared to dark sci-fi anime, all the 'moe' and fan service provided by the former can be (ahem)...rather pleasurable at times LOL

Been digging Season 2 of Shakugan no Shana (妁眼のシャナ ) Alright I'm abit over-excited that I can finally type Japanese and make out a handful of vowels and consonants, but yeah I have digressed. The flame-haired Shana was quite a letdown this time though. It's already episode 6, but only one battle has taken place so far! Most times we just have Shana sulking away with her melon bread and Yuji getting abused by the pink-haired French maid Wihelmina. There's also this Hecate (cum Yuki Nagato) lookalike who tugs at Yuji's sleeve 24/7. I mean it's a disturbing kind of innocence, but whatever happened to the on-going war between the Flame Hazes and Bal Masque?

This isn't right. Shana should be out there kicking ass (like the rest of the ballsy chicks), not playing with washing detergent.

Oh I do need to disclaim before my memory lapses: If you haven't had a clue to what I was writing about, just go wiki the title or something. In Japan, Shana's food fit for the 'seinen' (grown men) demographic, but in SG it's just plain girly-fare. I wonder why men here don't appreciate it, the series does have some fine TNA you know.

Yes, and I'm referring to the blonde cougar Margery Daw and her 'excessively-cupped assets' . She's been around for hundreds of years, but she still looks like a penthouse playmate! No wonder Keisaku and Eita have been keeping her in their home...

Hotness aside, one thing that struck a chord was Margery's quote in episode 6. The fansubbing might be inaccurate (yeah to hell with Nyoro~n and their shit Gundam 'fan stories' ) but it's still a very profound description about some of the tricky emotions many of us feel inside, so kudos to fansubbers Valkyrie's Sake for being so poetic haha.

"Love is like a mirror that reflects your bad side. Especially when it's unrequited, you get envious, jealous, prejudiced and resentful. You will have to face all sorts of emotions. But that's no reason to find it shameful, because it shows just how serious you are. Wanna know how to break that mirror? It's not that hard. All you have to do is understand the other person. Don't make any quick judgements, and don't let them do the same."

はい,わかりました!
